James Ogada

James holds a master’s degree in international management from the University of Liverpool and a bachelor’s degree in communication & business administration from Abilene Christian University. He has also completed Executive Education in Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance at Harvard Business School.

James brings extensive experience in inclusive finance, strategy development, and data-driven research, with a strong track record of leading multi-million-dollar initiatives that advance financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Prior to joining us, he served as Senior Engagement Director at Busara Center for Behavioural Economics, where he led the inclusive finance portfolio and managed projects valued at over $2.5 million.

Over the course of his career, James has collaborated with global partners including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, and FSD Africa, delivering research and strategic insights that support the design of financial products and policies for underserved populations. His expertise spans project leadership, behavioural research, partner engagement, and strategy development across both public and private sector initiatives.

James is fluent in English and Swahili and understands a little bit of Luo. Outside of work, James enjoys travelling, farming, keeping up with geopolitics and watching sports.
