Jaya Jain

Jaya brings over five years of experience in impact consulting and investing, with a deep passion for climate finance, gender equity, and alternative economic thinking. Her work sits at the intersection of sustainability, inclusive development, and innovative financial solutions.

Currently at Intellecap, Jaya focuses on advisory and investing across impact finance, climate change, and gender equity. She has worked with a diverse set of clients including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, International Solar Alliance (ISA), Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, SIDBI, and the World Bank Group.

Jaya has been instrumental in building the Rethinking Economics India Network, an initiative aimed at promoting pluralist, heterodox approaches to economics and making the discipline more inclusive and representative in India.
Earlier in her career, she contributed to international policy initiatives through her work with the OECD Working Party on Innovation and Technology Policy and the Emerging Markets Network at the OECD Development Centre.

She holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from Sciences Po and a triple major in Economics, Political Science, and Sociology from Christ University.

Jaya also led the student wing of a nonprofit for two years, spearheading community development projects focused on child rights, women’s empowerment, farmer livelihoods, and waste management.

A skilled writer and communicator, she has authored, co-authored, and provided editorial input for policy briefs, strategy reports, academic papers, and journalistic articles. She is bilingual in English, professionally proficient in French, a native Hindi speaker, and is currently learning Spanish.
