The Client manufactures and services portable toilets for construction sites, events and large gatherings. The Client retained Intellecap to develop a direct retail focused model (pay and use sanitation) that would allow it to introduce and profitably operate toilets in urban slums.
Intellecap developed a sustainable operating and revenue model for the retail business arm of the Client. Surveys were conducted to glean consumer preference insights and slum infrastructure information. Based on the survey findings and primary research, multiple economic models to be tested using pilots were developed. Intellecap also analysed 15 leading cities in India to assess expansion potential which further contributed to the design of pilot projects.
Based on Intellecap's recommendations, the Client is currently undertaking pilots on the field prior to a full commercial roll-out. The Intellecap team continues to stay involved in monitoring the pilot initiatives and further refine the model for scale-up.
